I have practised law as a sole practitioner lawyer in Mississauga for more than twenty five years, handling mostly criminal and family law cases. My practise has taken me to all levels of court in Ontario from the Ontario Court of Justice to the Ontario Court of Appeal, but I always take the time to ensure that I have all the information that I need to know about my client and his or her case so that the best possible arguments can be put forward in court. A lawyer either does or does not have a passion for achieving justice in our courtrooms for people, including those who may be amongst the most vulnerable members of our society, and I truly believe that the level of commitment that I make to each and every one of my clients is what sets me apart from many other members of my profession.

Prior to attending law school I completed in 1987 a Bachelor of Arts degree (specialising in North American history) at McGill University. I then obtained my law degree from the University of Toronto in 1990, and I was admitted as a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1993. I did my articles (or apprenticeship) with the Constitutional Law and Policy branch of the Ministry of the Attorney General (Ontario) in 1991-1992. I subsequently took a sabbatical from my law practice in 2002-2004 to obtain a Master of Arts degree in Communications at the University of Miami.

My office is in Mississauga, and hence most of my cases are dealt with at the Brampton courthouse that has jurisdiction over all family and criminal cases that arise within the Regional Municipality of Peel. That being said, I do handle cases that will be heard at courthouses throughout the Greater Toronto Area and other parts of Ontario. My office accepts Legal Aid Ontario certificates.

In addition to representing my own clients, I have also served as a per diem duty counsel for more than twenty years, assisting otherwise unrepresented clients with both criminal and family law matters at the Brampton courthouse. I also have part-time employment with the Law Society of Ontario as a criminal law tutor for students who have failed their initial attempt at either the Barrister Licensing Examination or the Paralegal Licensing Examination. Furthermore, I sit on the Board of Directors of the Peel Law Association and act as the editor of our quarterly publication Peel Briefs.
